As crystals have started trending, the mines have become run-down and overly-depleted, causing major issues ecologically and for the safety of the miners. Gemma sources from vendors they know are ethical and they do diligent research to verify the land is properly-rehabilitated after the mining takes place. They are committed to an ethical supply chain so that their customers’ enthusiasm for crystals is not contributing to the growing problem of heavy metal leaks into the earth’s wate supply.



The branding approach was to blend a vibrant palette with a feminine sensibility to create something fun but approachable. We landed on a wispy font combined with a bright palette, pulled straight from real gems.


Another piece of the branding is a gem care card, to be added to every customer’s order. The care card serves as both a personalized thank you note as well as instructions for the customer to best take care of their new treasure. It was important to use approachable language to describe properties so even beginners would know how best to take care of their stone.
